Street Photography (WIP)

Street Photography has a great variety on ways of doing it. It can be outdoors or take you indoors. It can be taken on a split of a second or it can take as long as you stay put waiting for the right moment. It can be taken with or without people noticing it.  Here you will find a sample of all.  However, I am the type of photographer that likes to wait for the right moment, if possible.  Also, sometimes, I like to know more about the person or situation I am photographing, I love writing captions, the more, the better.

Teaching a workshop in Italy for Santa Fe, we visited a few cities. In Naples the streets are very rich for street photography.

Spending a day out in the streets taking photographs also takes us inside places, and in this case one of the oldest place in Lisbon where you can find "Ginjinha", a Portuguese liqueur made from sour cherries. Originally opened in 1840, it has been run by the same family for five generations. It has served a shot of ginjinha to great poets such as Fernando Pessoa.

In our workshop we find a great variety of places to photograph. One of them was to be present at the last Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025 in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican City. Jubilee Year 2025 in Rome, surrounded by pilgrims from all over the world, we got to see Pope Francis for the last time. A week later Pope Francis passed away. A true spiritual leader, tireless advocate for peace and a wonderful smile he has captured the heart of not only religious people.

Street Photography is a great way to really pay attention to your surroundings, to what is happening around you. Trying to find a shot that describes the place and culture can be difficult to find but if you look for you most certainly can find!

Naples is lively, colourful and raw.

Teaching a workshop in Italy for Santa Fe, we visited a few cities. Rome was an excellent city for Street Photography.
